The Business Improvement in Government (BIIG) network is a vibrant interagency network within the Queensland (Qld) Government fostering sustainable business improvement practices across the public sector.
BIIG supports capacity and capability building in business improvement, innovation and creativity through an innovative and comprehensive work program.
The network is sponsored by the majority of core Qld Government agencies and therefore, empowered and entrusted to deliver innovative and value for money opportunities for public sector employees.
The BIIG Network has four key objectives:
- Provide opportunities for government employees to develop skills in innovation and improvement related activities
- Foster cross government knowledge sharing of innovation and business improvement related methodologies, information, ideas and experiences
- Promote the results achieved from engaging in innovative and creative work practices by public sector teams; and
- Be a source of information and advice to departments striving to improve the quality of services provided to Queenslanders.
To meet these objectives, BIIG offers a range of events, activities, resources, information and tools designed to promote existing and emergent business improvement and innovation related thought leadership and practices. BIIG has partnered with PRIME PMG to deliver the following courses
- Process Analyst Foundation Course
- Business Process Management- Executive Course
- BPMN for Business Process Management-Intensive Course
These courses will be hosted by BIIG and the courses will be delivered by PRIME PMG across QLD Government. Through these courses the various government agencies can hope to achieve
- Better Transparency across different verticals and departments.
- Improved understanding of the various processes and the challenges/bottlenecks in the carrying out of these processes.
- The ability to analyse the business as a whole and how different processes can be aligned to enhance efficiency and productivity.
